privacy.

imperfection tech is operated by an individual founder. for all data protection matters under the dpdp act, 2023, the founder is the data fiduciary. a registered company will be incorporated to operate cheque before product launch. waitlist subscribers will be notified when this happens, and your data will be transferred under the same protections described here.

there is no legal department, no data team, no privacy officer. there is one person making honest decisions about your data. for any question, complaint, or correction, email grievance@imperfection.tech. you’ll hear back within seven working days. usually sooner.

when you join the waitlist, we collect your email address, the country you select, and — only if you choose to share it — a short note about your biggest cheque or payment-ops headache. we also log the country your request appeared to come from (from your ip address) and your browser’s user agent string. nothing else.

when you eventually use the cheque product, we will collect only what is necessary to operate the software for you: your account identity, the cheque records you create, and the activity log of actions inside your account. each new category will be disclosed plainly before it is collected.

to send you product updates you asked for. to decide which country to launch in first. to operate the cheque product on your behalf when it ships. to keep an audit trail you can rely on. that is the full list. there is no behavioural profiling. there is no ad targeting. there are no marketing partners.

all personal data is stored on servers in india (amazon web services, mumbai region). we will not transfer data outside india without your explicit consent and only to jurisdictions notified by the indian government under the dpdp act. for users outside india, we apply gdpr and ccpa principles in addition to dpdp protections.

data is encrypted in transit and at rest. backups are encrypted and retained for thirty days, then aged out automatically.

we will never sell your data — to anyone, for any price. we will never share your data with marketing networks, ad platforms, or data brokers. we will never use the contents of your cheque records to train any ai model. we will never run ads inside your account. we will never lock your data behind a paywall.

the only third parties who ever see slivers of your data are the essential infrastructure providers we depend on: the database host, the email-sending provider, and the error-monitoring service. each is contractually bound to use that data only to provide their service to us. the current list is available on request.

you can ask, at any time, to see everything we hold about you. you can ask us to correct it. you can ask us to delete it. you can ask us to export it as a csv file. you can withdraw your consent. these rights apply equally whether you are covered by the dpdp act, gdpr, ccpa, or any other framework — we apply the most generous interpretation in every case.

to exercise any of these, email grievance@imperfection.tech. the request will be honoured within thirty days, usually within seven.

under the dpdp rules, you have the right to a named point of contact for any data complaint. that’s this:

waitlist records are kept until launch, plus thirty days. if you unsubscribe, the record is deleted immediately. if you become a paying user, your account data is kept for as long as the account is active, plus thirty days after closure for legal and accounting reasons. backups age out within thirty days. nothing is kept forever.

this site does not set any analytics cookies. it does not load any third-party trackers. there is no cookie banner because there is nothing to consent to. when you sign in to the cheque product (later), a single session cookie will be used to keep you logged in. that is the entire cookie inventory.

this product is built for businesses. it is not intended for, and should not be used by, anyone under the age of eighteen. if you believe a child has signed up, email us and the record will be removed immediately.

if this policy changes, the date at the top of the page will change, and waitlist members will be notified by email before any change takes effect. the previous version will remain available on request, so you can see exactly what moved.
